Class End Date Calculations

When you create a class and you set the number of sessions (or hours), the system will set the class end date when you define the sessions. These sessions might be based on a class schedule or manually added sporadically as needed. As soon as you create enough sessions (B) to reach the number of sessions (or hours) you've defined in class definition (A), the system sets the class end date (C) for you.

If the total number of sessions (B) exceeds the defined class sessions (A), the class end date will remain unchanged.

For example, if you add a 9th session on Monday, September 1st, the class end date will still be August 25th. This policy is designed to help you stay on top of key dates.

Your dashboard will notify you that this class requires attention on August 25th, even if you've allowed the teacher to schedule additional sessions beyond that date.

If you remove one or more sessions and the total number of sessions (B) falls below the defined number of sessions (A), the system can no longer determine the class end date (C), so it will be cleared.

If you postpone a session—for example, moving session 6 from August 11 to Monday, September 1—the class end date will automatically update to September 1.
